Description
Poi Kalon ("Foot of the Great") is Bukhara's principal architectural ensemble: the 46-metre Kalon Minaret (1127), the Kalon Friday Mosque and the Mir-i-Arab Madrasah. The minaret has been the city's symbol for eight centuries — legend says even Genghis Khan spared it. The ensemble is especially beautiful at night.
