SafarLine is a platform that gives travellers access to attractions, experiences, tourist services, CityPass, bookings and other travel services.

2. What data do we collect?

Depending on how you use SafarLine services, we may collect or process the following data.

2.1. Account and personal data

When you create an account or complete your profile, we may collect the following:

  • first and last name;
  • email address;
  • phone number;
  • profile information;
  • user ID;
  • authentication-related data.

Passwords are never stored in plain text and are protected with secure hashing.

3. Sign in with Google

SafarLine may let you sign in to your account with Google Sign-In.

When you sign in with Google, we may receive the following information from your Google account, in line with the permissions you grant:

  • name;
  • email address;
  • Google account ID;
  • profile photo, if available.

We do not receive or store your Google account password.

Data transferred through Google services may also be subject to Google's own privacy policy and terms of service.

4. Location data

SafarLine may request access to your device's location to provide certain features.

Such features may include:

  • showing tourist sites near you;
  • finding nearby experiences and services;
  • showing places on the map;
  • measuring distances;
  • providing location-based recommendations.

Location data is accessed only after you grant the relevant permission.

You can turn off location permission for SafarLine at any time in your Android device settings.

Not granting location permission does not stop you from using SafarLine's core features, although some location-based features may not work.

SOS and digital passport

When you press the SOS button, your current location and any note you write are sent to SafarLine operators by email or Telegram so they can help you. The location coordinates are kept in the security log for 365 days.

When you collect a stamp in the digital passport, your coordinates are sent to the server to confirm that you are at the site, and are kept in the security log.

On the website, location is requested through your browser — you can revoke the permission at any time in your browser settings.

5. Booking and travel service data

When a booking or order is made through SafarLine, the following data may be processed:

  • booking ID;
  • selected service;
  • service date and time;
  • number of participants;
  • booking status;
  • payment amount and status;
  • the partner providing the service;
  • contact details needed to fulfil the booking.

This data is used to create, confirm, fulfil and cancel bookings and to serve users.

6. Payment data

Payments on SafarLine may be made through third-party payment providers, including Payme, Click or other payment services available in the app.

SafarLine generally does not store the following user data on its servers:

  • full bank card number;
  • CVV/CVC code;
  • confidential card authentication data.

This data is processed by the relevant payment providers under their own security and privacy policies.

SafarLine may store the following transaction data:

  • transaction ID;
  • payment amount;
  • payment date;
  • payment provider;
  • payment status;
  • identifiers related to the booking or order.

This data is used for payment confirmation, settlements, refunds, dispute resolution and fraud prevention.

7. App usage data

To improve SafarLine services, the following data may be processed:

  • tourist sites and services you viewed;
  • items added to favorites;
  • booking history;
  • CityPass-related data;
  • certain in-app actions;
  • notification settings;
  • language settings;
  • technical errors and diagnostic data.

This data is used to provide app features, improve the user experience and identify technical issues.

AI assistant

When you use the AI assistant, translator, trip planner and AI camera, the following is processed to prepare a response:

  • the messages you write and the earlier part of the conversation;
  • text you enter for translation;
  • the days and interests you choose for a trip plan;
  • photos taken with the AI camera or picked from your gallery;
  • your location, if permitted, to find nearby places.

AI conversations are stored in your account and you can delete them at any time; otherwise they are deleted automatically after 180 days. AI camera photos are not stored on the server.

Using AI features is optional. We recommend not including your passport details, bank card number or other sensitive information in messages.

8. Device and technical data

The following technical data may be processed for security, diagnostics and to keep the service running reliably:

  • IP address;
  • operating system type and version;
  • app version;
  • device type;
  • server logs;
  • request time;
  • technical information about errors.

We use this data to keep the system secure, detect faults and prevent unauthorized use.

9. Notifications

SafarLine may send you notifications about:

  • booking status;
  • payment status;
  • service reminders;
  • important system notices;
  • travel recommendations;
  • promotions and news.

You can turn off notifications at any time in your Android settings.

Turning off marketing notifications may not affect essential service notifications.

10. How do we use the data?

We may use the collected data to:

  • create and manage user accounts;
  • authenticate users;
  • show tourist sites and services;
  • process bookings;
  • process and verify payments;
  • provide CityPass services;
  • send users the notifications they need;
  • respond to user requests;
  • improve the app and services;
  • detect technical faults;
  • prevent fraud and illegal activity;
  • keep the service secure;
  • comply with legal requirements.

11. Sharing data with third parties

SafarLine does not sell users' personal data.

Where necessary to provide the service, some data may be shared with the following parties.

Payment providers

For example:

  • Payme;
  • Click;
  • other payment providers integrated into the app.

They receive only the data needed to process the payment.

Authentication providers

For example, when you sign in with Google Sign-In, the necessary authentication data may be exchanged with Google services.

Travel partners

Limited data needed to fulfil a booking may be shared with the partners providing the service. These partners include:

  • hotels;
  • guides;
  • tour operators;
  • experience organizers;
  • tourist sites;
  • other partners.

Technical and infrastructure providers

Infrastructure providers that help host, store, protect or deliver SafarLine services may process data on our behalf.

Artificial intelligence providers

When you use AI features, your request text, images and the context needed for a response are sent to an artificial intelligence provider (currently OpenAI) solely to obtain the response. To prepare review summaries on experience pages, the ratings and text of public reviews are also sent, without the authors' names.

Map and weather services

Map tiles are loaded from OpenStreetMap servers — your device's IP address is visible to that service.

To show the weather, your location or the coordinates of the city centre are sent to the Open-Meteo service; information such as your name or email is not shared.

Government authorities

Data may be disclosed where required by law, a court order or a lawful request from an authorized government body.

12. Data security

SafarLine applies appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect user data.

These include:

  • encrypted connections over HTTPS/TLS;
  • secure password hashing;
  • restricted access to servers and databases;
  • authentication and authorization mechanisms;
  • role-based access control;
  • security logs;
  • server- and application-level security measures.

Even so, it is technically impossible to guarantee the absolute security of data sent over the internet.

13. Data retention

Personal data is kept only for as long as needed for the purposes set out in this policy.

While your account is active, we may keep the data it needs to function.

When an account is deleted, the personal data associated with it is deleted or irreversibly anonymized, except for data that must be kept by law or on the basis of legitimate interests.

For example, some of the following data may be kept for a set period:

  • financial transaction records;
  • tax and accounting documents;
  • fraud prevention records;
  • security logs;
  • data that must be kept by law.

Such data is not used for any other purpose.

Specific retention periods

The following data is deleted automatically once the stated period has passed:

Data type Retention period
Security log (sign-ins, IP address, SOS and stamp coordinates) 365 days
AI assistant conversations 180 days
In-app analytics events 180 days
Search history and viewed items 90 days
Notifications 90 days
Email verification codes 1 day after expiry
Database backups 14 days

14. Deleting your account and data

SafarLine lets users delete their account and the personal data associated with it.

In the app

In the SafarLine app, you can submit an account deletion request under Profile → Settings → Delete account.

Account deletion is permanent.

Once deletion is complete, the following is deleted or anonymized, except for data that must be kept by law:

  • profile;
  • account data;
  • favorites;
  • user settings linked to the account;
  • personal usage data.

Via the website

Users who cannot access the app can submit an account deletion request on the following page:

https://safarline.uz/en/account-deletion/

This page may require identity verification to identify the account and prevent unauthorized deletion.

Simply blocking or temporarily deactivating an account does not count as deleting it.

15. Your rights

Within the scope of applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • obtain information about your personal data;
  • correct inaccurate data;
  • update your data;
  • request deletion of your data;
  • delete your account;
  • withdraw consent given to the processing of certain data;
  • revoke device permissions.

To submit a request, contact us at:

info@safarline.uz

16. Device permissions

SafarLine may ask for permission to use certain capabilities of your device.

For example:

Location
To find tourist sites near you and for map features.
Notifications
To send notifications about bookings, payments and other important updates.

SafarLine aims to request only the permissions a given app feature needs.

You can change permissions at any time in your Android device settings.

17. Cookies and web technologies

The SafarLine website may use cookies or similar technologies to operate, manage user sessions, keep things secure and remember settings.

Where non-essential tracking technologies are used, user consent may be obtained in line with applicable law.

18. Minors

SafarLine is a travel platform for a general audience and is not specifically directed at children.

Where minors use the service, supervision by a parent or legal guardian is recommended.

If we find that a minor's information is being processed without a proper legal basis, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

You can report such a case to us at:

info@safarline.uz

19. International data processing

Some technical services or service providers used by SafarLine may be located in other countries.

In such cases, appropriate security and organizational measures are applied to protect user data.

In particular, data for AI features is processed by OpenAI (USA), map tiles by OpenStreetMap and weather data by Open-Meteo, on servers outside Uzbekistan. Using AI features is optional.

20. Changes to this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time.

If significant changes are made, users may be notified:

  • in the app;
  • on the SafarLine website;
  • or through other appropriate channels.

The current version of the policy is always available on this page.
