Description
Sitorai Mokhi-Khosa — the "Palace of Moon-like Stars" — was the summer residence of Sayid Alim Khan, the last emir of Bukhara. Built at the turn of the 20th century, it fuses Bukharan ganch carving with European interiors designed by Russian architects. The dazzling mirrored plasterwork of the White Hall took master Shirin Muradov and his team two years to complete. Today the palace is a museum of applied arts, displaying gold embroidery, suzani, porcelain and court costume of the emirate. Peacocks still wander the gardens.
