Description

The Khoja Zayniddin mosque-khanaka was built in the early 16th century and preserves some of the most authentic interior decoration of any neighbourhood mosque in Bukhara. The gilded kundal painting on its walls and the muqarnas mihrab have hardly been repainted — the colours are largely five centuries old. An ancient hauz still fronts the building. Few tourists find their way here, so the prayerful atmosphere remains intact.
