Description
At the Embroidery House you can follow every stage of a Bukharan suzani, from drawing the pattern on silk to the months of stitching that follow. The women of the workshop still use pattern stencils inherited from their grandmothers — sun, pomegranate and almond motifs sewn into each piece as wishes of blessing. Work ranges from small cushion covers to full wall hangings. Every suzani comes with a card telling the story of how and by whom it was made.
