Description

Toqi Sarrofon was built in the 16th century over the Shahrud canal, and its name tells its trade: this was the dome of the sarrafs, the money changers. Merchants arriving from India, Persia, Russia and China exchanged their gold and silver coin beneath these vaults. The dome's two main arches open along the axis of the old trade road. Today its bays are occupied by souvenir shops and artisan stalls.
