Description
Toqi Zargaron was raised in the 1570s under Abdullah Khan II and is the largest of Bukhara's three surviving trading domes. The name means "dome of the jewellers": thirty-six goldsmith shops and workshops once operated beneath it. Standing at a crossroads of Silk Road routes, it was a hub of caravan commerce for centuries. Its cool vaulted passages still shelter traders selling jewellery, carpets and traditional crafts today.
